Land, Knowledge & Plant Acknowledgements

I would like to begin by acknowledging that Naughty Nettles is located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather today. Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations.

I would like to acknowledge the source of my plant knowledge as coming from European, Asian and First Nation sources. Many people have survived in our cultures through the shared stories of medicinal plants. I hope to honour this shared resource.

I would like to acknowledge plants, and animals, as being the source of the air we breath, the food we eat, the medicines we use and the clothes we wear. We keep this in mind by showing respect and thanks to all the beings we work with.
